It’s good to finally get a win, even if it is against another undermanned team. Knowing this we set about with a goal of only playing positive cricket with the objective of running hard and hitting hard without risk. This worked well only losing 3 wickets out of a total of 460 with one being a runout. Numerous 50 plus retirements littered the scorecard but a special mention goes to Frank Packer who hit one of the biggest sixes in Under 14’s you will see.
Our bowling was disciplined and with only 6 opposition batsmen turning up the second week it was a race against the weather to dismiss Port for 11 and 17 to secure outright points with Ishaan Oak and Seb McVann being standouts (sorry Reds you can’t have them). A commendation goes to all the boys from the Port coach who appreciated the spirit in which it was played and the positive encouragement that was shown to the Port boys by our team.
