The D Grade played up at Col Waite oval and bowled first. An experienced batsman got on top of us early before Daniel Subramaniam (8 overs, 0/25), Seb Porter (8 overs, 2/36) and Hamish Porter (8 overs, 3/25, 1 run out) tightened things up and got us back into a good position. East Torrens scored some key boundaries late to reach 6/216 from their 40 overs. Jack Konnis (53), in his first senior game and Dan Subramaniam (43) in a rare appearance at the top of the order, got the team off to a great start. The pair were exceptionally composed in the middle, and took us to 0/90 at the halfway mark, leaving us about a run-a-ball to get from there. Unfortunately, Konnis fell straight after drinks, and the scoring stagnated. This meant that the later players had to come in and swing hard, but we had about as much luck as the bloke we spotted trying to fish in the creek. We lost 10/40 to be all out for 130, well short of the total. The opening stand, the fielding, and the bowling of the Daniel, Hamish, and Seb are all positives to take out of the disappointing loss.
