Darcy Hunkin (6 overs, 1/10) got the first wicket after a tight opening spell from himself and Holmes (8 overs, 1/35). Woodville tried to accelerate but Steven Tanti was unplayable. He looked like he was bowling on a different pitch, getting plenty of bounce and zip. Steven finished on 2/15 from his 6 overs. Silvy returned to the bowling crease with a wicket, whilst Liam Greber bowled well at the end of the innings to take 3/31 in just his second senior game. Woodville never really got close to the total, finishing 8/177. A good win for the D Grade after an up and down start to the season.
Day 1, Electing to bat first at St Clair, the D Grade got off to a good start. Chapman, Konnis, and Subramaniam all found plenty of gaps in the field and ran well. 1/66 at the halfway point gave us a good platform to build from. When Sub fell for 22, Michael Silvy came to the crease, playing his first senior Kensi game since the early nineties. In fact, Chappy was the only member of the team to be alive during his last Kensi performance. Silvy struck them beautifully, and raced to a half-century, finishing with a very quick 64, including 10 fours and a six. Chapman was the rock of the innings with a composed 48. Wickets in hand allowed the batsman at the end to bat with confidence, White (16*) and Nick Holmes (26*) combining for a partnership of 44 off just 19 balls. The team finished on 5/212.
