Girls Academy
Background
Following the success of the boys Academy at Kensington, the establishment of an Academy for girls was the natural progression. After much planning, the academy commenced in the 2016-17 season.
2017-18 Season
The Academy is targeted at 8-18 yo girls who are keen to improve their skills and progress to playing competitive cricket. The Academy is the next step from Milo in2Cricket, MiloT20 Blast, and the newly established Strikers Girls Cricket League programs.
The Academy offers skills based sessions, with specialised one-on-one tuition, together with group activities and game scenarios.
It is envisaged that the girls will progress through the Academy to represent the Kensington Browns Cricket Club in organised SACA competitions, becoming the best cricketers they can.
The regular Academy sessions will be from 27th October to 15th December, and run weekly on Friday nights from 4:00-5:30pm. We will break over the school holidays, recommencing on 9th February.
This season, our 1st Grade women’s coach, Carolyn Dittmar, will again run the academy with assistance from senior players.
